Guests at Darden Restaurants’ Smokey Bones BBQ & Grill chain, and those of other restaurants such as Applebee’s or sports bars using Soundog wireless, table-specific speaker technology, may now customize at their table the soundtrack for video images they choose to watch.
Joe Chabus of Orlando-based Darden said Smokey Bones’ guests have indicated that they appreciate being able to select for their table the audio track for the video content they choose from among the six programs on 30 monitors that typically are available at each unit of the 104-branch barbecue chain.

In many restaurants or bars with sports and other programming, guests must strain to hear the audio portion of programs they choose to watch because it competes with sound from other programs. Soundog by Sprox Sales LLC of Farmington Hills, Mich., uses wireless technology and offers controls at each table to let guests choose from up to eight audio tracks or to mute the sound.
